Business picks up in WWE and DC Comics crossover as Edge battles The Flash!

While we await the next shots fired in the Stardust/Green Arrow war, a battle is brewing between The CW's DC Comics' and The WWE Universes on another front.

In set photos for the second season of The Flash leaked earlier this week, a masked villain confronts the Scarlet Speedster while his hometown is celebrating their hero.

No word on who Adam "Edge" Copeland is playing - online speculation is split between a new character created for the show or the sometimes hero/sometimes anti-hero (and frequent ally of soon-to-be-played-by-The-Rock Black Adam...this crossover is getting out of hand!) Atom Smasher.

UPDATE: It is Albert "Atom Smasher" Rothstein. Per The CW - 'One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash. His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him.'

And, of course, Edge is not currently under contract to WWE, so this is no way related to Stephen "Arrow" Amell's beef with Cody "Stardust" Rhodes or Dwayne Johnson's future place in the DC movie-verse.

But it's fun to think about, and a nice get for Copeland's burgeoning film career.
