Dolph Ziggler reportedly signs new WWE contract

After weeks of will-he-or-won't-he, Dolph has finally re-signed with the company. And he's making a movie!

PWInsider is reporting that Dolph Ziggler has officially signed a new contract with the WWE. They are also reporting that the reason he's off TV with an injury angle after being attacked by Rusev last week is because he'll be in Vancouver for the next few weeks, filming a starring role in a new WWE Studios thriller, currently titled 6:42.

Rumors that Ziggler might leave WWE at the end of his current contract began circulating in the middle of June. Ziggler himself fanned those flames at the end of last month when he talked about how he "might have to go away for a little bit." Now he's officially back on board with WWE, which is where he will likely end his wrestling career, which is how he's said he would prefer things:

"I mean, it feels like I started here, I should end my career in the WWE."

As for this new WWE Studios film, 6:42, Ziggler will play Ray Fitzpatrick, a cop with a troubled past (is there any other kind in a thriller?) who will be attempting to thwart a plot to blow up a small child. Sounds like a good, old-fashioned 90s-style thriller. But with Dolph Ziggler!
