Rumor Roundup (July 10, 2015): Steve Austin announcement, Tough Enough problems, Sami Zayn, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • The major announcement Steve Austin was teasing some time ago was apparently the WWE 2K16 cover, although there may be something more to come.
  • According to the Observer, USA is unhappy with Tough Enough and its poor ratings, believing that the format is largely to blame while also thinking pro wrestling popularity is cycling downward.
  • In addition, there's apparently a feeling that Chris Jericho has been positioned poorly as host and hasn't been the dynamic presence Steve Austin was.
  • The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that John Laurinaitis was producer and head agent for Beast in the East and the company considers the show a major success.
  • When Sami Zayn returns from injury, it's likely he'll spend more time in NXT before getting a main roster call up.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
