Paul Levesque and Vince McMahon: Who is Best for Business?

Triple H and Vince McMahon are not perfect. They, like other non-robots, have flaws and make mistakes. But what makes them distinct? What makes them indistinguishable? And who is best for business?

Look at Monday Night RAW. Think you can spot who is in charge of the show each week?

When John Cena wins a match with Kane by overcoming all those odds, who is in charge of the show?

When John Cena loses a match clean on his back against Kevin Owens, who is in charge of the show?

Paul Levesque and Vince McMahon, while many praise and many bad mouth both men, deserve respect for their amazing accomplishments in their careers and in helping the WWE grow to where it is today.

From the WWWF to the WWF to the WWE Vince McMahon inherited the company from his father and turned it into a global entity sure to withstand any wrestling apocalypse looming in the distance.

Paul Triple H Levesque started as a wrestler, moved through the ranks, held multiple championships along the way, started booking and learning all aspects of the business, then became Executive Vice President of the WWE.

Both men, having different backgrounds and ways of thinking, are indistinguishable on how to run the business. Both men believe that what they book and who they push is best. Here's the thing, the best for business shtick is not shtick. Best for business (a motto I now live by) is the truest form of the "Reality Era."

Punk's pipebomb: best for business. Daniel Bryan's rise from Wyatt to WWEWHC: best for business. Brock Lesnar destroying Taker: best for business (while agonizing), Brock Lesnar mauling Cena: best for business (while looking agonizing). Decisions are made by what will make money at that current time. Both men know how to generate revenue and views.

What makes them distinct?

Vince focuses on men he wants to push, are capable, and at times disregards whether they are over or not. Triple H focuses on men he wants to push, are capable, and don't necessary need to be pushed to get over.

The business model is the same, but the implementation of it is very different. The implementation being a successfully constructed show. And that's where you can answer "Who is in charge of tonight's show?"

Like I said in the beginning of the article, both men have flaws and make mistakes. But who in the end is best for business?

My money is on Paul Levesque.

I do not believe either man is perfect, but in the end Triple H is the right guy to lead WWE into the future.

For me, the true test of greatness will come with not only how the company books its shows in Vince's absence but what is done with the "Divas." Vince's booking is wearing out. He sticks to concepts of old that may have connected well in the past but don't anymore. Will the women get more time under Paul Levesque's reign? Will their storylines actually make sense and connect with the audience?

Levesque seems to know what clicks with fans. He sees NXT as a positive brand for WWE and a positive way to build stars and create great connections with fans.He knows what is working there and how it will translate onto the main roster. The Shield is a great example. That group dominated WWE for over a year and made their mark in wrestling history. Look at Rusev. Rusev is very skilled and connects with the audience and makes them want more (even if they want to hate him). Neville is another example. Great wrestler, connects with his high flying ability.

I believe Triple H is a positive future for the company, and for the future of pro wrestling.

What do you think? If not Triple H, who would be the best person? Do you like what Triple H has done? Are you happy that he will be the future of the WWE?
