Sheamus wins Money in the Bank ladder match

Roman Reigns would have, if not for that dastardly Bray Wyatt!

WWE kicked off its Money in the Bank pay-per-view tonight from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio with its Money in the Bank ladder match. The winner, as you probably know, grabs the briefcase hanging above the ring with a contract for a WWE world heavyweight championship match inside.

The participants: Roman Reigns, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, Neville, Kane, Randy Orton, Sheamus

The winner:

The match was every Money in the Bank ladder match you've ever seen with less high spots and big bumps from those involved. Sheamus worked hard early until the high flyers got in and did their high flying. And by "high flying" I mean both Kingston and Neville took powerbombs onto a ladder from Reigns.

Orton delivered a couple of thunderous RKO's from the ladder to both Kane and Neville.

Sheamus hit his finish on Orton before Neville hit his on Sheamus after Ziggler worked a sleeper on a ladder that dropped them both down.

In short, everyone got their time to shine, as per usual.

Late in the match, Reigns took everyone down on the outside with a big splash over the top rope. At that point, The New Day ran down to help Kingston climb up the ladder, but they were also taken out by Reigns. He looked poised to win, after spearing Randy Orton, but as he was climbing the ladder Bray Wyatt ran in and took him out.

It was then that Sheamus climbed the ladder, fought off Neville, and unlatched the briefcase to win the match.
