The main event of tonight's Elimination Chamber live special on the WWE Network from the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas featured Seth Rollins putting his WWE world heavyweight championship on the line against former Shield stablemate Dean Ambrose.
The match was every Rollins-Ambrose match you've seen over the past year since the former turned heel on the latter on the episode of Raw after Payback. This one was marked by constant interference from both Kane and J&J Security, there to ensure Rollins retained the title.
Ambrose recruited Roman Reigns to assist him earlier in the evening but Triple H forbid Reigns to work Ambrose's corner during the match.
They worked a lot of near falls for Ambrose, heavily teasing that he had a real shot to win the match. Again, though, The Authority's goons were constantly interfering. Then, the referee took a bump and it looked certain there would be more shenanigans.
Instead, Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds, another referee ran in to count the fall, and Ambrose won the WWE world heavyweight title.
Except he didn't.
Naturally, the ref who was bumped woke up and revealed that while Ambrose was still the winner, his win was by disqualification and Rollins would be keeping the title.
After, The Authority beat Ambrose down to set up Roman Reigns running in to clean house. Dean grabbed the title, said he won the match so he's taking the title with him, and ran off with the belt.
