The New Day put their tag team titles on the line in the first ever tag team Elimination Chamber match at the special event of the same name tonight at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas on the WWE Network. Earlier in the evening, Xavier Woods, Big E, and Kofi Kingston convinced Kane to allow all three into the match at the same time.
And STILL your tag team champions.
Here's the order of entry:
- Lucha Dragons
- The Ascension
- Brass Ring Club
- Los Matadores
- Prime Time Players
- The New Day
And the order of exit (and who they were eliminated by):
- Los Matadores (Ascension)
- Lucha Dragons (Ascension)
- Ascension (Prime Time Players)
- Brass Ring Club (Prime Time Players)
- Prime Time Players (New Day)
Lucha Dragons, not surprisingly, were booked to do some high flying while Cesaro was his usual powerful self. The Ascension did some early damage in the form of two eliminations before a fresh Darren Young and Titus O'Neil took them out.
Once New Day got in, they had their man advantage quickly negated when the Brass Ring Club locked Woods in one of the vacant pods, though he only stayed their for long enough to see the next elimination. That came when Cesaro and Kidd hit their finish but Young ran in for a surprise roll up that got the pin on Cesaro.
Big E got Woods out of the pod and set up a 3-on-2 against the Prime Time Players. New Day dominated early but the babyfaces made a comeback and got a near fall. But eventually THAT DAMN NUMBERS GAME caught up and the heels retained their titles.
