Just one night after the Takeover: Unstoppable live special on the WWE Network, NXT was back at Full Sail in Orlando to tape the next month of television. Samoa Joe, who had his big WWE debut the night before, was in action multiple times.
Here's what he had going on (via PW Insider):
- Joe's first ever match under the WWE umbrella was a win over Scott Dawson, which happened during the taping for week three. Kevin Owens was on commentary for it. After, Joe called him out but Owens said he couldn't cut to the front of the line for a title shot. William Regal then booked a non-title match between the two for the next week.
- The match between the two ended in a double disqualification and the two had a brawl to close the show. Other spoilers indicate that when Joe was about to leave, Owens called him a "bitch" and they had a huge pull apart and the crowd was super into all of it.
Other spoilers from the tapings:
- Sami Zayn was not there and not mentioned to the live audience outside of Kevin Owens coming out to his music and telling everyone to say thanks for getting rid of him.
- Women's Champion Sasha Banks also wasn't used in any part of the show, though it's unclear if she'll be in any pre-tapes or mentioned by commentary during the shows.
- Emma def. both Bayley and Blue Pants during separate weeks and she has new entrance music.
- Zack Ryder works a match with Mojo Rawley -- who had Rob Gronkowski with him as part of his hype section -- during week three of the tapings.
- Eva Marie did an interview during week two and said she hopes to wrestle in NXT. Nuclear heat for her.
