WWE Payback 2015 results: The New Day cheat gloriously to beat Brass Ring Club, retain tag team titles

New ... Day rocks!

When The New Day won the tag team titles from the Brass Ring Club at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view last month, it was obvious the two teams would rematch at the next big event on the WWE Network. That's exactly what they did at tonight's Payback show in Baltimore, Maryland in the form of a 2-out-3 Falls match.

Tyson Kidd & Cesaro scored the first pinfall, dominating much of the early portion of the match and scoring a pin on the combination Giant Swing and sudden stop dropkick.

Big E halted their momentum by throwing Kidd around like a rag doll after a suicide dive attempt shortly after, putting The New Day in control. They built to Kidd making a hot tag to Cesaro but when the time came, his partner wasn't there. While he fought valiantly to score the winning fall for his team, Big E and Kofi Kingston teamed up to even the score at 1 fall apiece.

When Cesaro finally got back in, he ran wild on Kingston before nearly dropping Big E on his head and setting up a near fall with a revitalized Kidd. That's when they went into the finish, both teams trading shots and creating mass chaos. Amidst the confusion, Xavier Woods ran into the ring and rolled Cesaro up so the referee couldn't see it was him and counted the pin to give The New Day the win to retain the titles.
