WWE Payback 2015 preview: Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Randy Orton

The match

Seth Rollins puts the WWE world heavyweight championship on the line in a Fatal 4-Way against his former Shield stablemates, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, and Randy Orton in the main event of tonight's Payback pay-per-view (PPV) at the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.

The players

Seth Rollins: The WWE world heavyweight champion, he is still the favored future of The Authority despite recent setbacks with the Director of Operations.

Roman Reigns: He hits hard, he hits often; he can, he will. He benefited from a WWE App vote.

Dean Ambrose: After months of failure, he won a match and now he's here.

Randy Orton: A win against Rollins at WrestleMania and a questionable loss at Extreme Rules has kept him in the hunt.

The story

It's all about Kane.

No, seriously.

Kane is mad at Seth Rollins.

Seth Rollins is mad at Kane.

Triple H is mad that Kane and Seth Rollins are mad at each other.

Fans are mad that we have to put up with this nonsense.

The stipulation is that if Kane doesn't help Rollins retain the title, he will be fired from his position as Director of Operations within The Authority. It's been the teased direction for some time now, and this could very well be the night it all blows up. Reigns, Ambrose, and Orton all have legitimate reasons to be here, but they've absolutely been positioned as afterthoughts to the issue between Rollins and Kane.

What to expect

Rollins is almost surely leaving as champion as we inch closer to SummerSlam and the return of Brock Lesnar. What's most interesting is how they handle the other three in the match. Ambrose would seem to be the fall guy but what of Reigns and Orton? What will come next for them?

Stay tuned.
