Finn Bálor (vs. Chris Jericho) and Kevin Owens advertised for WWE Japanese tour

WWE.com

When Chris Jericho announced his latest return to WWE, he mentioned that he was looking forward to again working with some of the company's newer talent. Even among his biggest fans (like me), there were eye rolls at the thought of another Fandango feud, so today's news that - at least for one of the two Tokyo dates Y2J is booked - he'll be having a once-in-a-lifetime dream match with an international superstar brought a little of that old Jericholism back.

PWInsider is reporting that Finn Bálor vs. Chris Jericho will be one of the headlining bouts on the July 4th WWE Live show at Ryogoku Kokugikan in the capital of Japan.

Also announced for the two day swing through one of the pro wrestling hotbed is Kevin Owens, although no opponents have been listed for the NXT champion.

While there's no official word, you have to wonder if what role Hideo Itami's injury has played into this. It's likely that Bálor - who already took part in the company's European tour and was a huge star for New Japan as Prince Devitt - was always scheduled to play a part on these shows, but his profile may be getting a boost due to KENTA not being able to perform in his homeland.

Here's the rest of the advertisement Mike Johnson provided:

July 3, 2015

WWE United States champion John Cena vs. Rusev
Dolph Ziggler vs. King Barrett
Also appearing: NXT champion Kevin Owens, WWE Divas champion Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Neville, Luke Harper, Lucha Dragons, Los Matadores and Naomi

July 4, 2015

Chris Jericho vs. Finn Bálor
John Cena & Dolph Ziggler vs King Barrett & Rusev
The New Day vs. Tyson Kidd & Cesaro
Also appearing: NXT champion Kevin Owens, WWE Divas champion Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Neville, Luke Harper, Lucha Dragons, Los Matadores and Naomi

Think this means we're closer to Bálor Club or "Fight Owens Fight" on the main roster? Or are you just hoping the 4th of July show will be a WWE Network special?
