WWE NXT preview (May 13, 2015): Stop scaring me!

WWE NXT on Instagram

Last Week

Whatever lesson Dark Emma is trying to teach Bayley, it looks like it's working - but maybe only for the Hugster. The Australian rolled into her match against Charlotte sporting B's shirt and headbands, but not only did she get beat by The Dirtiest Diva in the Game, she also took a beating from Bayley after the contest ended.

It was a big week for the Women's title scene, especially #1 contender Becky Lynch. The Irishwoman completed her face turn with a video package and in-ring promo focused on the hardships she has overcome on her way to WWE, and her shot at Sasha Banks was made official for next week (May 20, 2015) at TakeOver: Unstoppable. The Boss was her usual arrogant self, looking to intimidate Bex by signing their match contract with a blinged-out stamp and catching Lynch with a vicious slap. The challenger would not be intimidated, however, and ended the signing segment with referees trying to get her to release the armbar in which she had Banks locked.

While Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder picked up a win over Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady thanks to a backstage assault on the Realest Guys by the tag champs, Carmella looked pretty horrified by the actions of Blake & Murphy...but she also had on some costume jewlery that looked like it came out of The Dubstep Cowboys mid-mall kiosk of choice. In other not-really-a-match story advancement, Rhyno squashed some guy and then called out Baron Corbin.

Unstoppable's planned main eventers each sat down with Michael Cole to restate their positions, and Sami Zayn had some pointed questions he plans on asking Kevin Steen ASAP. Alex Riley headed to Dr. Andrews' surgical suite, but not before saying goodbye to the NXT Universe from a kitchenette somewhere. And, as much as some of us don't like Dana Brooke? That's how much she dislikes Devin Taylor and Charlotte's TapouT ads.

We also have a Triple Threat planned for TakeOver, and Hideo Itami battled Tyler Breeze for the umpteenth time to represent that on last week's show. Finn Bálor reminded us that he's in that match by rocking a suit at the timekeeper's position. Itami won the match, but might have lost the trust of his Irish friend when he blasted him through a barricade. Both of the former tag partners caught kicks from Prince Pretty, possibly giving Breeze the upper hand - or foot - heading into next week.

This Week

With some unfortunate injury reports hanging over the past week, yet so much to look forward to in the coming week, tonight's episode falls in at a weird time.

That it was taped about a month ago now means there's very little chance we'll get updates on Sami Zayn or Hideo Itami's conditions heading into their scheduled bouts next Wednesday - other than possibly in backstage vignettes. In fact, we may learn more from what, if anything, they do on Thursday - Saturday's house shows in Philadelphia and Albany.

It was somewhat surprising to see Sesugh Uhaa (Uhaa Nation on the independents; WWE name TBD) officially presented by General Manager William Regal last week. But even before the injury news started flying around, Triple H and company knew that some of their current crop of main eventers would follow Neville to the main roster. Owens, Zayn, Bálor and others have proven that signees with a broad base of international experience can have an impact on NXT quickly, and it'll be interesting to see if Uhaa is officially placed in the mix this week or maybe next.

Beyond that, we'll have to be on the lookout for next week's card to be filled out...will we get another women's match? Perhaps a tag bout, or even two more singles contests depending on if and how they fast-track Dana Brooke and Charlotte. If Regal's most recent kayfabe signee doesn't debut, who will squash Bull Dempsey? What's up with Solomon Crowe's plan for domination...and where in the world is Marcus Louis?

(Note: I know some folks have come looking for a more definitive match listing - we strictly avoid NXT spoilers here at Cageside central. If WWE.com releases or the performers tweet more information on anything that's officially going to take place on tonight's show, that'll be updated here.  If anyone wants to put a match listing in the comments, please use spoiler tags.)

How would you like to see NXT finish off the next TakeOver card, with or without Zayn or Itami?

Get ready for tonight's show by kicking that around with your fellow Cagesiders, and come back tonight to watch and react to the show with the whole crew!
