Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- As far as Daniel Bryan is concerned, PW Insider is reporting that he is still scheduled for the Payback pay-per-view this Sunday night and he's also set for next week's television shows in Virginia. That doesn't mean what happened on Raw was a work or he's not leaving, but there you go.
- Regarding the Intercontinental championship, there was talk of the title being decided in a match at Payback but the decision was made to put it on the line in an Elimination Chamber match once the call was made to bring that event back as a Network exclusive on May 31.
- Speaking of Elimination Chamber, the reason WWE brought it back is 100-percent an attempt to get as many new subscribers during the free month of May as possible. According to PW Insider, the decision was likely made within the past 48 hours.
- It's looking more and more like Jim Ross will join Chael Sonnen as the broadcast team for Global Force Wrestling.
- The plan for GFW looks to be to tape a number of weeks of television and then close it out with a two hour special.
