The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Payback show set to take place on Sun., May 17, 2015, at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. This is the first year the show will take place outside of Chicago and the timing couldn't be ... better? Maybe worse? With turmoil in the city, WWE could provide a welcome distraction.
We're now just one week out from showtime and there are a couple matches official for the event.
- Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Randy Orton
It's at least somewhat disappointing that the first time the entirety of The Shield will compete in the same match for the WWE world heavyweight championship also involves Randy Orton. That said, Ambrose appears to have been added to be the fall guy while not overdoing the triple threat gimmick.
- John Cena vs. Rusev (I Quit)
This feud will finally come to an end with the best of all blow off matches, the I Quit match. That doesn't bode well for Rusev, of course, but it should be most interesting to see how they get to the moment he utters those famous words. Perhaps Lana will play a major part in it, as the two are headed for a breakup.
So far, those are the only matches official for the show. Everything else -- Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus, Naomi vs. Nikki Bella, Brass Ring Club vs. The New Day -- is just a rumor.
