Gravity may have forgotten him, but Smarks didn't

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows -  the April 13th episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Lucha Underground & WWE NXT from Wednesday the 15th, Thursday's free web release of ROH TV and WWE SmackDown on SyFy, and the TNA Impact Wrestling that aired on Friday, April 17th.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

Even if it had been true...

He'd still have gotten over.

  • Adrian won on a week where he didn't have two separate GIF posts from his Raw match - let's see how he does in a week where he did.
  • Most of what earned the man in second place actually happened during WrestleMania week, but you could probably make the same argument for the guy in third - but the WWE champ didn't have a NXT special written around him.
  • Bizarro took over the 4 & 5 slots...a world where we weren't yet completely blaming the Celtic Warrior for Daniel Bryan injuries, and hustle, loyalty & respect were practiced throughout the land.
  • All New Day needed was a few actual character traits to remind us how we love their muscular goofball, and all our favorite stunt double needed to do to regain our support was to stop taking so much crap from Miz.
  • Two men with legit claims to WWE's top prize round out a diverse list, along with Lucha Underground's top cat.

The S3: 2015-16, Week 2

1. Neville
2. Hideo Itami

3. Seth Rollins
4. Sheamus
5. John Cena

6. Big E
7. Damien Mizdow

8. Roman Reigns
9. Randy Orton
10. Prince Puma

Points in our weekly Standings determine our annual list - full details on rules and scoring HERE.

The early days of a new season are always interesting on the year-long S3. This may be the highest Cena's ever been on one of these, for instance, and some of these folks may never make the top ten again. That's all part of the fun of following along from WrestleMania to WrestleMania!

The S3 Performer of the Year - through the Week Ending April 11

1. (tie) Seth Rollins - 16 points
1. (tie) Sheamus - 16

3. Neville - 13

4. Brock Lesnar - 10

5. Hideo Itami - 9
6. (tie) John Cena - 7

6. (tie) Kalisto - 7

8. AJ Lee - 6

9. (tie) Big E - 5

9. (tie) Daniel Bryan - 5

Glad to see so many new names in the comments. If anyone has any questions about how this thing works, please ask away in the comments and I'll be sure to check in a few times to answer - if one of our veterans doesn't beat me to it.

If you think you've got the hang of it, dive in! Or refresh your memory with cSs' coverage of RawImpactLucha UndergoundNXTSmackdown, and ROH (or your own notes on any other shows that can be watched on an internet or satellite connected screen), and then get to typing and clicking! We'll see you back here next Sunday with the results, and for another round of voting!
