Vince McMahon reportedly impressed with NXT's Charlotte and Sasha Banks

It is being reported that Vince McMahon, who attended the NXT live event at the San Jose State Rec Center held two days before WrestleMania 31, was particularly impressed with the performances of both Charlotte and Sasha Banks on the card.

Expect a big push for Charlotte when she gets promoted to the main WWE roster.

Two days before WrestleMania 31, WWE's developmental league NXT held their third ever live event outside the state of Florida in front of an appreciative sellout crowd of 5,000 fans at the San Jose State Rec Center. The show once again drew rave reviews from the band of travelling hardcore fans in attendance with the match between Sasha Banks and Charlotte for the NXT Women's title standing out as a particular highlight (impressive considering the likes of Hideo Itami, Finn Balor and Adrian Neville also wrestled on the card). This critical and commercial success should ensure that an NXT house show becomes a permanent WrestleMania week tradition going forward.

It was also a special night as it gave Vince McMahon his first ever opportunity to experience NXT live and also see many of the wrestlers perform in person. According to PWInsider.com, he too was impressed by the performances of Charlotte and Sasha Banks, which should bode well for WWE continuing to give Divas a chance and portray women's wrestling in a more flattering light:

"Vince McMahon, who attended his first-ever NXT event last Friday, is said to be super high on Charlotte after seeing her work against Sasha Banks. There was talk of her moving to the main roster Mania week and that only multiplied after McMahon saw her work. I am told that McMahon also requested that she be featured more in the Tapout commercials that are running, so if you see more of an emphasis on her in that campaign, you'll know why.

I was told by several that Vince McMahon also loved Sasha Banks' work on the NXT live event in San Jose, CA."

However, perhaps slightly worryingly, there was no mention in Mike Johnson's report of McMahon being especially impressed with any of the male NXT talent, which some might take as evidence that the predominantly small, former independent workers that are being heavily featured on NXT television would be a tough sell to the man in charge of WWE.

To be fair, both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, widely regarded as NXT's best wrestlers, were unable to wrestle on the card due to minor injuries, but they did still confront each other on the show. Nevertheless, for those hoping to see Owens take on Brock Lesnar ASAP, I'm afraid you might be waiting a long time to see that particular match.
