Just last week WWE officially announced that the Intercontinental championship would be defended in a ladder match at WrestleMania 31 on Sun., Mar. 29, 2015, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Obviously Bad News Barrett would be involved, as the reigning champion, but the other spots were left open at first.
On Monday, R-Truth was added to it.
Now, WWE.com has revealed that both Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper are also in the match.
What's interesting is the picture you see above, the official photo promoting the match, seems to indicate there will be a total of six wrestlers in the match. Considering television, one would think Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan would occupy those slots. However, Goldust was teasing on Twitter that he may be entering the picture and Stardust, whom he's been feuding with, seemingly threw his name into the hat at SmackDown this week (full spoilers here).
It's possible they could simply add Goldust and Stardust to push the total number of participants to eight but that would leave even fewer stars for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Could that mean WWE has decided to book the Bryan vs. Ziggler singles match and are replacing them with Goldust and Stardust?
That seems unlikely, but anything is possible.
Stay tuned.
The current WrestleMania 31 match card:
