Ronda Rousey WrestleMania 31 appearance was in the works for months

That's one hell of a well kept secret.

WWE.com

The Rock made a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 31 last night (even though it wasn't all that much of a surprise) to run an angle with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. The real surprise was the fact that Rock went outside the ring and got current UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey involved.

She judo tossed Triple H and tossed Stephanie around like a rag doll.

According to MMAFighting.com, this appearance was in the works for months but it may not end up leading to anything:

Rousey and The Rock are indeed friends, too. They share the same agent, Brad Slater of William Morris Endeavor.

According to Slater, Rousey's Wrestlemania appearance had been in the works for months, however, he said it was unclear whether she will actually compete in a future match.

"I've told you many times how I work with Dana [White]," Slater told MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani in regards to whether the UFC knew about Rousey's involvement in the show. "I always, always call him and make sure he is OK with anything we ever do in movies, television and otherwise."

The angle works as a standalone segment, something special for WrestleMania. That said, it was very clearly laid out to set up either a Rousey vs. McMahon match, or a mixed tag with Rock and Triple H getting involved.

Either way, it's a big money match that WWE should be trying to book ASAP.

And hey, UFC President Dana White doesn't seem like he would mind.
