Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman get cozy before WrestleMania 31

Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns joined Michelle Beadle for her first Grantland podcast to hype the upcoming WrestleMania 31 pay-per-view that is now just a couple days away from invading Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Right away, the two were gushing all over each other.

First, Heyman with effusive praise:

"I'm a huge admirer of his work. Huge. ... I've known his family since I was 14 years old. His family helped raise me in this business and I've watched him... I met him when he was a child. His father brought him to a show and he was a child. I'm a huge fan of his. I mean seriously, if I wasn't exclusive to Brock Lesnar I would go out of my way to do everything to kiss his tookus and get him signed."

Here's Reigns responding to that:

"I think in the world of WWE and sports entertainment anything is possible. I have the same admiration and respect for Paul. My conflict is not... he doesn't wear the WWE title around his waist, his client does. That's the problem I have."

Right away it should be noted that there have been rumors of Heyman turning on Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania and aligning himself with Reigns. That said, they transition so seamlessly in and out of kayfabe that it's impossible to know what is work and what is shoot.

This is probably just two guys giving an interview to promote an upcoming show who are speaking honestly about their feelings for one another. But there is at least some possibility that there's more to it than that which itself acts as promotion for the show.

Is it working? Are you getting excited yet?
