Rumor Roundup (Mar. 12, 2015): Brock Lesnar WWE update, Raw meeting, Stardust vs. Goldust, more!

WWE.com

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Part of the reason WWE wants to re-sign Brock Lesnar so badly is because if he goes back to UFC that will make it look more like UFC is direct competition and they share the same fan base. However, the Observer notes there is nothing new on contract talks between the two sides.
  • According to PW Insider, "at least two" wrestlers at the backstage meeting at Raw to tell the wrestlers to step forward if they were having any issues did just that. No word on what it was about or who the two wrestlers actually were.
  • The reason the Goldust vs. Stardust thing was dropped was because there was a belief it didn't work, according to the Observer. Apparently Goldust was being considered for the Intercontinental title ladder match but that won't be happening now.
  • Mark Carano has "gained a lot of power backstage" at WWE, according to PW Insider. Apparently, he's basically replaced Jane Geddes and is working under Triple H in running talent relations.
  • The Tokyo Dome show on Jan. 4 did between 12-15,000 buys on pay-per-view, according to the Observer, and was a profitable show.
