Although there were rumors that Rusev vs. John Cena would headline the tonight's Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV) at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee -- and, in fairness, it was an outstanding match that would have done just fine in that spot -- that honor ultimately went to the Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan number one contender bout.
The winner would go on to face Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31 next month in Santa Clara.
The Royal Rumble winner is getting his due.
The match was fantastic. They started by telling the story that Reigns had the power and strength but Bryan had the technique. They went to a stalemate and finally just started going at each other with reckless abandon, absolutely laying into each other with their best stuff.
In the end, Reigns hit a spear as Bryan was going for the running knee and got the pinfall.
After, Bryan got in his face and told him "you better kick his ass" before shaking hands.
Let's hear what you thought about it, Cagesiders.
