It's official! During Monday night's RAW in Pittsburgh, it was announced that WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day will defend their titles against both the Usos and the Lucha Dragons at TLC on Dec. 13.
The Usos and Lucha Dragons faced off on Monday night in a match to determine tag title challenge superiority, but that contest led to a non-finish after The New Day (who were doing excellent commentary duty) got involved. The New Day attempted to claim that this meant there was no No. 1 contender and they would defend against NOBODY at TLC.
Unfortunately for the New Day, Stephanie McMahon announced that the triple threat match for the titles would indeed take place at TLC ... if Roman Reigns could defeat Sheamus in under five minutes and 15 seconds. Reigns got the win via DQ, so the triple threat is ON.
This three-way feud was initially set up on last week's RAW, when The New Day held their First Anniversary In-Ring Country Music Jamboree and Open Challenge. The Lucha Dragons attempted to answer that challenge, which then brought out the Usos, who also wanted the opportunity. Sin Cara attempted to make the open challenge a Triple Threat, only to find out the New Day was rescinding the "open challenge" part of the celebration.
The current card for WWE TLC 2015:
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match: Sheamus (c) vs. Roman Reigns
WWE World Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match: The New Day (c) vs. The Usos vs. Lucha Dragons
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dean Ambrose
