Dear Wrestlers, Please Stop Making Fun of People with Mental Conditions.

Two notes before I get into the meat of this.

1. Some of you already know this and some of you don't so I'll just let everyone know up front that I have Aperger's Syndrome. That is why much of what I'll get into bugs me.

2. I've put off publishing this for a few days so my emotions are more level and I'm not needlessly raging against everything in sight.

Now I, like many others here, recently saw Alberto Del Rio's tweet that portrayed so called "Haters" as people with some kind of mental issue. In addition to ADR's tweet we've gotten tweets from Cameron and parts of interviews from Roman Reigns where they say that people hate on them because they hate their lives or something to that effect.

Here's the thing wrestlers STOP DOING IT!!! Mental/psychiatric issues such as Asperger's, Autism, Down's Syndrome, Depression, etc. are nothing to make fun of or take lightly. Let's make a comparison to another disease, oh let's say cancer. Now imagine one of these wrestlers above or any other high profile wrestler says something along the lines of, "Haters hate me because they have cancer and they hate that they only have a year to live." If anyone said something like that they would be fired in about 2 seconds of posting it. So why is it okay to say things about mental conditions?

Now some might say "well Sal, they're trying to get heel heat with us/they're working us." To which i say, That isn't good heat. That is x-pac/go away heat. It doesn't make me hate the character it makes me hate the performer and has me avoid their segments. The reason I don't care for Roman Reigns is because of what he said.

Look wrestlers/performers it's fine to make fun of people when they do stupid stuff. I mean KO does it all the time on twitter. It's not cool or appropriate to make fun of and belittle people for having mental conditions they can't help having. I really hope if any of you see this you understand I don't want to dislike you. I want to support you and enjoy everything you put your bodies and minds through for us, but making fun of people for something like this is wrong.

Sincerely,

Salvatore Joseph Cusmano IV.
