Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- Even though there were plans for Roman Reigns to beat Seth Rollins at Survivor Series prior to Rollins' injury, Wrestling Observer is saying that he's not a lock to win the tournament. WWE is concerned about an imbalance of heels and faces, and doesn't think there's a heel strong enough to challenge Roman as champ.
- There's persistant buzz that NXT will be making room for their new signees by releasing at least one or two Performance Center talents this month.
- Though PWInsider reports that Breaking Ground is an accurate representation of day-to-day operations at the PC, there's some question as to how much it's being manipulated for reality show drama. There are at least small changes in personnel, like portraying Sara Amato personally training the women when she is largely an agent with the main roster now as Sarah Stock takes over in NXT, showing William Regal leading promo class when that is usually Dusty Rhodes' protege Ryan Katz and Senior Executive Canyon Ceman flying in for talent releases when that is typically handled by Head Coach Matt Bloom.
- Despite speculation that Finn Bálor might debut on Raw last night, that was never the plan. He was teasing a Survivor Series debut a la Undertaker at a NXT fan panel over the weekend, but fans noted it was probably just him joking around.
- The date that Alberto Del Rio will work on the indies is reportedly an already announced December show for WWE Hall of Famer Carlos Colon, Sr's World Wrestling Council in Puerto Rico.
