NXT returned to Full Sail in Orlando, Florida for another set of tapings tonight.
Show 1 (Nov. 4):
The show begins with Asuka taking on new-to-NXT Cameron. Asuka wins handily with the Asuka Lock.
Bull Dempsey defeats Angelo Dawkins.
Eva Marie makes her return to NXT which will surely set the General's heart aflutter and defeats performance center trainee Gionna Daddio, going by the name 'Marley.' Shoot name far superior to the wrestling name. How are you gonna change "Gionna Daddio?" That's pro wrestler through and through.
The main event is the NXT championship match with Apollo Crews challenging Finn Balor. In a rarity for NXT, the match ends in disqualification when Baron Corbin interferes and goes after Crews and Balor. Samoa Joe comes out to make the save, but turns on Finn! It looks like the direction for London might be Joe/Balor and Crews/Corbin.
Show 2 (Nov. 11):
The next taping starts with the women yet again. This time with Peyton Royce facing off against the newly debuting Athena, seemingly going by Adrienne (her real name). Adrienne emerges victorious with... the O Face!
2015 is one hell of a year, isn't it? Never thought I'd see that one on NXT TV.
Next, Bayley teams up with The Hype Bros to take on Alexa Bliss & Her Boys. After the match, Alexa steals Bayley's belt, and Bayley hits the Belly to Bayley on Murphy.
Nia Jax returns for another squash, this time against New Jersey independent wrestler Deonna Purrazzo, who you may have seen on ROH's Women of Honor online match against Mandy Leon. She also won the ECWA Super 8 tournament this weekend defeating Tessa Blanchard in the finals.
In the second show Main Event, the NXT tag team belts are on the line with the Vaudevillains defending against Dash & Dawson, and Dash & Dawson win the match and the NXT tag team championships! This marks the second title change on television since the Live specials have begun.
Show 3 (Nov. 19):
The show opens with a confrontation between Samoa Joe and Finn Balor. Joe is upset about what happened at the Battle Royal and about Tyler Breeze getting a main roster spot that should be his.
The first match sees Nia Jax taking on Carmella this time and winning yet again.
Next up, Chad Gable & Jason Jordan make their first appearance of the set to take on the returning Ascension. Gable & Jordan win and exchange a show of sportsmanship after the match, hopefully indicating a face turn for the likable duo and a match for Gable & Jordan with Dash & Dawson in London that would almost certainly steal the show.
Emma faces off against Andrea next, the former Rosie Lottalove of TNA fame, who lost a bunch of weight and now serves as So Cal Val's enforcer in Valifornia and the Premier Athlete Brand for Evolve and SHINE Wrestling, continuing the WWN relationship.
Dash & Dawson face off yet more non-contract talent, this time in the form of Corey Hollis and John Skyler, two talented Southern indy guys. Hollis in particular is a guy who I really love. He was fantastic at the Scenic City Invitational this year and has been consistently good the few times he's been booked in ROH, including one of the best tag matches of the year against The Decade of all people at ROH's Winter Warriors show in February teaming with Jonathan Gresham. Given WWN using a few Southern teams for its FIP Tag Team Tournament, it seems like the Southern indies are now on the radar of Triple H and Gabe Sapolsky, which is fantastic news, as they have a lot of really talented workers down there.
Finally, the Women's Championship is up for grabs with Alexa Bliss taking on Bayley. Bayley retains the championship, and the tapings end with something I imagine will be met with great joy in the Mrosko household and gnashing of teeth everywhere else....
Eva Marie comes out to confront Bayley.
She challenges her for the championship, and the match is made for the 11/19 tapings. Given that the match is on the tapings, I'm not too worried about it. If Eva Marie wins, that'll obviously be a disaster, but since it's not in London, I assume they'll get their material for Total Divas, Bayley will win, and she'll find her opponent for London at the next tapings.
One can only hope.
