Rumor Roundup (Jan. 12, 2015): Dean Ambrose heel turn, Bray Wyatt vs. Undertaker WrestleMania build, and more

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • At a Memphi Gizzlies NBA game, the arena advertised the main event for WWE's February pay-per-view (PPV) Fast Lane as John Cena & Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins & Big Show.  Neither Cena or Rollins was billed as WWE Champ, so - if true - this could mean Brock Lesnar retains at Royal Rumble and skips the show before defending at WrestleMania 31.
  • Apparently a lot of folks backstage were surprised that Bray Wyatt beat Dean Ambrose clean (or as clean as a gimmick match like their Ambulance encounter last week on Raw allowed).  The decision is seen as a sign that confidence is ticking upward for Undertaker to come back for a match in Santa Clara, and Wyatt needs to be booked as strong as possible to set-up their showdown there.
  • The other guess attributed to backstage chatter generated by last week's Ambrose/Wyatt result?  That they could be close to turning The Lunatic Fringe heel.  How this helps him or the overall product out isn't clear, so take this one with an extra large helping of salt.
  • Chris Jericho showed up at a WWE house show in Alabama on Saturday night, apparently because it wasn't hard to pull off logistically and to generate an "anything can happen at untelevised live events" buzz.  Because a lot of casual fans keep up with what happens at house shows in other towns or something.
  • While new seasons of Tough Enough still seem to be on hold due to the cost of producing them, WWE Network will start adding previous seasons to the library soon.  Who else is excited to watch young Miz and Ryback?

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
