WWE NXT results, live open thread for September 25, 2014: For real or flukes?

WWE.com

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Thursday night at 9PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network (see the first NOTE below regarding broadcast time). We'll have our regular reactions post later, but we'll post match results here. More importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the show dedicated to WWE's Florida-based developmental program - as it airs!

Last week, Titus O'Neil hit Full Sail Live to issue a complaint about Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn, Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze cutting into his time on Raw the week before.  Zayn came out to defend NXT, but was cut off by the champ - who Sami still has some issues with (but not as many as the crowd).  Kidd thinks both Neville and his friendly rival are losers, so he got paired up with Titus against them in the main event...a match won by Tyson after O'Neil shoved Neville into his knees while he was trying for his finisher.  Elsewhere, Emma returned to her old stomping grounds to make women's champ Charlotte look good, and Baron Corbin proved his squash of CJ Parker from Takeover 2 was no fluke.  Hideo Itami had a debut victory of debatable quality against Justin Gabriel, and then was anni-YAH-lated by the former tag champs, Viktor and Konnor.

This week...the longest reigning champs in NXT history, The Ascension, get a chance at redemption - and possibly a new run with the tag titles - when they rematch with Sin Cara & Kalisto in an attempt to prove that the Lucha Dragons win was a fluke.  As their story has been intertwined with Itami's introduction to the show, we'll have to keep an eye-out for his involvement, all while we wonder how much more involved Titus O'Neil is going to be in the NXT championship scene.  Plus, we still need some development in the chase for Women's gold.  Does Bayley get another shot, or is it The Boss' time?  Or will another contender emerge?

NOTE I: WWE Network is scheduled to release the show at 4PM Eastern time again this week, with a re-broadcast at 9PM.  Out of respect for working folks, we'll still update results and treat the evening run as the "live" show for the open thread.  If you watch earlier and want to comment, please treat it the same as you would spoilers, which are covered in...

NOTE II: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts, but yours truly and many of our regulars don't partake.  If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.

Enjoy the show!
