Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- There had been some thought that Brock Lesnar and John Cena would have yet another match, this one at Hell in a Cell next month. It's now being said WWE is looking at other options for Lesnar.
- With that being the case, it appears as though Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose will be the Hell in a Cell match on this year's card, though that's not set in stone.
- Regarding Paul Heyman missing Raw this week, apparently he was scripted to cut a promo but the show was still being rewritten as it was going on the air and, obviously, he ultimately wasn't used. That could be due to WWE working out who his opponent may be. Big Show has been rumored in the past, and it looked like they were building to that at Night of Champions, but they also teased Mark Henry turning heel on Big Show on Main Event last night.
- There's been a weird rumor going around centering on comments allegedly made by Pat Patterson that Sami Zayn and other NXT talents like Adrian Neville haven't impressed a lot of backstage people at WWE. This comes on the heels of the various rumors that NXT talents have been booked for main rosterr shows for weeks and haven't been used outside of dark matches.
- It's expected that The Ascension could be the next official NXT call up.
