WWE Night of Champions 2014 results: AJ Lee wins Divas title from Paige, Nikki Bella

The dreaded "death spot" on tonight's WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view (PPV) at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee -- that being the match that goes on before the main event -- went to the Divas championship triple threat match, as Paige was looking to defend her title against both AJ Lee and Nikki Bella.

The match was about what you would expect.

AJ dumped Paige early and focused her work on Nikki, who, surprisingly enough, got the better of their exchanges. That is until Paige came back and the focus quickly turned to continuing to work the sexual tension angle that WWE has been pushing between the two of late.

Paige at one point actually screamed out "WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME?!?"

The big spot in the match was a combination superplex powerbomb, though it was at least somewhat lessened by the fact that the call for it was audible over the mic.

In the end, AJ tossed Nikki from the ring in a particularly hard landing before locking Paige in the Black Widow and getting the tap.

AJ is champion once again.
