Sexual tension is in the air between AJ and Paige as they continue their feud over the Divas Championship. Meanwhile Nikki Bella has become a force to be reckoned with ever since she betrayed her twin sister at SummerSlam. Now that these stories have merged, who will leave Night of Champions as the true queen of the Divas division?

The Road to Night of Champions

Let's just cut right to the chase here - the last several weeks of WWE television have included far too many lengthy talking segments featuring The Bella Twins.

Brie's inability to act or deliver an adequate babyface promo has been hammered into the ground and has hurt her star power. And while Nikki delivers her lines more naturally than Brie, her acting is also generally unconvincing and she repeats the same phrases too often. This is not a great recipe for extended promo segments, yet that's exactly what WWE has delivered nearly every week since SummerSlam.

The bar was set even lower when WWE decided to add on the rest of the Bella family to this convoluted mess in a segment featuring Jerry Springer that truly exemplified the word wrestlecrap. It was probably all Brie's fault, but Nikki never told anybody.

In contrast to the Bella Twins, AJ Lee's greatest strength lies in her elite skills with a microphone. She transformed herself into an indispensable superstar by shining brighter than all other Divas in non-wrestling segments for multiple years now.

And Paige has been handling herself just fine on the mic ever since she turned on AJ and adopted AJ's mannerisms as a way to mock her frenemy. WWE Creative has added an unnecessary ingredient onto their feud in the form of sexual tension. This element seems a little too forced and has produced some underwhelming television segments, including gestures such as awkward hugs and making out with the Divas Championship. However, AJ and Paige's performances have been commendable enough to make this story tolerable in the short-term.

These two stories intersected when Stephanie McMahon admitted that Nikki Bella is the ideal face of the Divas division and then granted Nikki a title match at Night of Champions against Paige and AJ.

What's at Stake?

It is a little strange that Brie was excluded from this match, but the rumor mill suggests that WWE is simply trying to stall on an eventual Bella versus Bella singles match.

It is also unusual for WWE to book a triple threat Divas match. Do these performers have enough experience in this type of match to make it look smooth?

After weeks of hearing these women tell their stories on the mic, it is now time to settle it in the ring for the Divas Championship. Will Nikki Bella become the first Total Diva to finally capture the coveted Divas championship? Or will Brie show up to ruin Nikki's life one more time? Will the building sexual tension between AJ and Paige actually play a key role in the story of this match?
