WWE NXT results, live open thread for September 18, 2014: Konnichiwa, suckers

WWE.com

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Thursday night at 9PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network (see the first NOTE below regarding broadcast time). We'll have our regular reactions post later, but we'll post match results here. More importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the show dedicated to WWE's Florida-based developmental program - as it airs!

Last week, a little show called Takeover: Fatal 4Way went down...perhaps you heard something about it?  Adrian Neville was willing to employ any means necessary to retain his NXT Championship, and his friend Sami Zayn isn't sure how he feels about one of those means being yanking the referee out of the ring before he could win the title fair and square.  Charlotte still has her belt, too - along with some respect for Bayley and more contempt for former partner Sasha Banks.  Lucha Dragons (Kalisto & Sin Cara) became the new tag team champs when they upset The Ascension - who failed to make a splash by spoiling the former Kenta's introduction.  Marcus Louis was sold down a river of Nair by his partner, Sylvester Lefort, as Enzo Amore & Big Colin Cassady laughed about Le Legionnaire being B-A-W-L-D.  Baron Corbin and Bull Dempsey climbed NXT's hoss rankings, while Mojo Rawley & CJ Parker slipped further into jobber-dom.

This week...it doesn't matter what you call him.  It doesn't matter who William Regal trots out to face him.  Hideo Itami has his in-ring debut tonight!   Konnor & Viktor will look to regain face - and possibly the tag titles - before their next main roster appearance.  And the next phase of Sami Zayn's long quest for the NXT Championship starts, as the entire show takes its first steps into the future on the first show from a new taping.

NOTE I: WWE Network is scheduled to release the show at 4PM Eastern time again this week, with a re-broadcast at 9PM.  Out of respect for working folks, we'll still update results and treat the evening run as the "live" show for the open thread.  If you watch earlier and want to comment, please treat it the same as you would spoilers, which are covered in...

NOTE II: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts, but yours truly and many of our regulars don't partake.  If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.

Enjoy the show!
