Ring of Honor: Field of Honor card set, AJ Styles matches added to Death Before Dishonor and a return to iPPV in September

ROHWrestling.com

Sinclair Broadcasting's Ring of Honor (ROH) has a busy couple of months coming up.

Next Friday, August 15th, they take to Brooklyn, New York's MCU Park for Field of Honor.  The top matches were already announced, but the promotion has fleshed out the mid-card in the past few days.

Rocky Romero of Forever Hooligans has worked for ROH quite a bit in the last year, mostly with his tag partner Alex Koslov.  In Brooklyn, he'll be flying solo when he challenges Mike Bennett.  Bennett is usually derided by ROH fans for being too much of a sports entertainer, but here he'll be fresh off a tour of one of the most respected pro wrestling countries in the world with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).  This match up against the extremely well-traveled Romero could be a showcase moment for The Kingdom member.

Romero will also need to be on the lookout for Bennett's Kingdom partner, Adam Cole.  And of course, his manager and paramour, Maria Kanellis.

Two men who were a part of Kevin Steen's farewell tour, Tommaso Ciampa and Silas Young, will collide on the diamond.  Young was more successful (but less honorable) than the Sicilian Psychopath, but it was an honor for both men to get the rub of being two of Mr. Wrestling's last three opponents.  Steen's exit has left an opening for a fan favorite crazy person in ROH.  This match will help determine who lays claim to it.

Here's the rest of the card as it now stands:

ROH World Championship 4Way
Michael Elgin (c) vs.AJ Styles vs. Adam Cole vs. Jay Briscoe

Steel Cage match for the ROH TV Title
Jay Lethal (c) w/ Truth Martini vs. Matt Taven

ROH World Tag Team Championship
reDRagon (Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish) (c) vs. Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian

Cedric Alexander vs. ACH

Mark Briscoe vs New Japan's Watanabe

Silas Young vs. Tommaso Ciampa

Rocky Romero vs. Michael Bennett w/ Maria Kanellis

Tickets are still available here.

The company is taking advantage of having IWGP Heavyweight Champion Styles stateside, and has booked him into two big matches against a couple of their rising stars the following weekend during their Death Before Dishonor XII shows in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Friday, August 22) and Chicago Ridge, Illinois (Saturday, August 23rd).

In Milwaukee, the Phenomenal One will face one half of the tag champs in Kyle O'Reilly. A lot of people are very optimistic about O'Reilly's future, and this should be a great match that could springboard him to the next level.

In Chicago, Styles will face off with an exciting performer who is only held back by his lackluster microphone skills (a knock that has been leveled at AJ a time or two in his historic career) - Cedric Alexander.  Alexander is coming off of some exciting wins over ROH original Roderick Strong, and a chance to shine against another one could be his ticket to the main event.

Also scheduled for Friday is Elgin vs. Young for the ROH World Championship.  Saturday night so far has Elgin defending against Ciampa, and an awesome four team elimination match featuring the Briscoes vs. Daniels & Kaz vs. The Young Bucks vs. reDRagon!

Unfortunately, none of those shows will be available to watch live.  But ROH announced today that their All-Star Extravaganza VI event in September will be streamed on internet pay-per-view (iPPV).

No matches have been announced yet, but all of the guys listed above are scheduled to appear at the Saturday, September 6th show from Toronto, Ontario, Canada's historic Maple Leaf Gardens.  ROH is continuing their partnership with UStream, who helped them successfully deliver their last iPPV (and the internet stream of their first television PPV) earlier this summer, but the feed will only be available on the promotion's website, ROHWrestling.com - not on the UStream channel.

Pre-orders of the $19.99 show should start soon, and tickets are still available as well.
