Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Thursday night at 9PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network (see the first NOTE below regarding broadcast time). We'll have our regular reactions post later, but we'll post match results here. More importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the show dedicated to WWE's Florida-based developmental program - as it airs!
Last week, The Vaudevillains defeated Enzo & Big Cass clean to advance to the tag tournament finals, where they'll face Kalisto & Sin Cara, who beat Sami Zayn & Adam Rose, for the right to challenge The Ascension for the tag titles. The Jersey boy was ambushed after his match by Les Legionnaires and had part of his beard shaved off, and has challenged Sylvester Lefort to a hair vs. hair match for Takeover (II: The Quickening). Triple H made an appearance to announce that next live special for September 11th, and to tease a new authority (or is that Authority?) figure for NXT. Tyler Breeze decided he had better things to do than wrestle Tyson Kidd, and Mojo Rawley got to squash someone else for a change. Women's champ Charlotte grappled her way to a win over Becky Lynch.
This week...the new General Manager will be revealed, and we'll see if (s)he lives up to the "ain't seen nothing yet" promise of COO HHH. We're being threatened/promised a match featuring the tag champs, which means at least one more set of jobbers to kill for Konnor and Viktor during their record-setting run. Lefort still has to answer Enzo Amore's challenge, and it will be Bull Dempsey's turn to advance the issues between himself and the Hype Man. There's only one more show after this before Takeover, so expect some interaction between Charlotte and the #1 contender for her belt, Bayley, and a clearer picture of who Adrian Neville will be defending his NXT championship against on the live show.
NOTE I: WWE Network is scheduled to release the show at 4PM Eastern time again this week, with a re-broadcast at 9PM. Out of respect for working folks, we'll still update results and treat the evening run as the "live" show for the open thread. If you watch earlier and want to comment, please treat it the same as you would spoilers, which are covered in...
NOTE II: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts, but yours truly and many of our regulars don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.
Enjoy the show!
