Paul Heyman told us Brock Lesnar was going to victimize John Cena at SummerSlam at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California last night, and that's exactly what happened. It was brutal, it was shocking; it was shockingly brutal.
It was beautiful.
Now, though, we have to wonder what comes next. Brock Lesnar is the WWE world heavyweight champion and he's only contractually obligated to show up for a very limited number of dates throughout the duration of said contract. There's been no indication that anything has or will change based on his becoming champion.
Hell, he broke Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania and disappeared for three months.
However, it's been reported that he will be working the Night of Champions pay-per-view (PPV) next month. He is scheduled to appear on tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw in Las Vegas, reportedly so he can be presented with a new WWE championship title bearing the fresh company logo that was rolled out across all platforms just this past weekend.
But what happens now?
A rematch with Cena is an obvious option, and one that likely makes the most sense. But this is an interesting time in WWE if only because Lesnar is such a wild card that we can't be entirely sure what they'll do from here.
