They were calling it the biggest test of Roman Reigns young career when he went one-on-one with Randy Orton in the co-main event match at tonight's SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
It was slow to start and they worked a pace you could argue was somewhat lazy in the early going. But they didn't need to overdo it. They got their stuff in, setting up the big spots later on in the match.
That included Orton countering a spear into a slam.
That also included Orton countering a Superman punch into the RKO.
It got to a point that he was struggling to finish the job and the commentary team was wondering "what does he have to do?!?!?" He turned back to his patented punt but Reigns recovered in time to avoid it and hit the Spear.
1-2-3, and Reigns now has the "biggest win of his career".
