For the first time in over a decade, Stephanie McMahon actually worked a match at tonight's SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Her feud with Brie Bella required at least one match and this is where they had it.
They worked slow to start, which was fine because they quite obviously planned out the match they wanted to have and executed it about as well as could be expected. Stephanie was in control for most of it, and she looked shockingly competent considering her long absence.
Late in the match, Triple H ran down for a distraction. Nikki Bella followed close behind. Stephanie tried to take advantage with a Pedigree but Brie countered into the YES Lock.
At that point, Triple H pulled the referee out of the ring. That led to Brie drop kicking him out of the ring. Stephanie tried to bail but Nikki kept her in the ring and the Bella twins surrounded her.
Then, Nikki turned heel, pushing Stephanie out of the way and knocking her sister down.
Stephanie followed with the Pedigree and that got the three count.
