The pay-per-view (PPV) portion of tonight's SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, kicked off with Dolph Ziggler challenging The Miz for the Intercontinental championship.
Successfully.
That's right, folks, Ziggler is once again a WWE titleholder after pinning Miz following a solid back-and-forth 15 minute match to open tonight's show. The finish saw Miz counter a Fameasser into a Skull Crushing Finale but Dolph kicked out. Soon after, he hit the Zig Zag and got the clean pinfall victory.
This means we can stop bringing up burials now, right?
This is at least somewhat surprising, however, considering how well Miz has done with his new Hollywood character. Still, heels are born to lose and this should only give him that much more material to work with as he moves forward with his moneymaker.
