Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • More rumors circulating on the Alberto Del Rio situation. The latest is that Del Rio's firing may have been more about how hard he slapped the social media manager as opposed to the fact that he actually slapped him. In addition, the Wrestling Observer has gone on record saying those who have spoken with Del Rio said he was told initially that he would be suspended for the incident until "just past SummerSlam", then the social media manager threatened to sue WWE, and the decision was made to fire him. Del Rio was apparently furious at this.
  • It also seems as though the social media manager may have had a few situations in the past that have earned him a bad reputation among some of the wrestlers at WWE and from the looks of it most are siding with Del Rio in this particular instance.
  • There's now more talk that Rey Mysterio has been unhappy with his WWE contract and he's working to get out of it so he can go to AAA and work in Mexico again.
  • WWE is apparently pretty high on Kevin Steen, hence the big announcement of his signing and initial push that's it is a big deal. In addition, the Wrestling Observer has said Dean Ambrose has been told to stop doing the cannonball in the corner move so Steen can use it as a trademark spot when he gets up to the main roster. That could mean he'll be called up sooner rather than later. Time will tell.
  • Kurt Angle is apparently trying to work out a deal with WWE that would see him work a decreased schedule so he could do big shows but not much else. It does not appear, however, that WWE is biting at all, at least right now, and Vince McMahon has been negative on bringing Angle back ever since he left the company back in 2006.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
