Rumor Roundup (Aug. 13, 2014): Brock Lesnar, The Network, Nation 2.0 nixed, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Right now, it looks like the plan is for Brock Lesnar to win the WWE world heavyweight championship from John Cena at SummerSlam and for Paul Heyman to present him with the new title featuring the new logo on Monday Night Raw. That could, of course, change, but it's what the rumor is right now.
  • Here's a rumor sure to make you happy: Apparently there's been talk of The Authority becoming "The Network" and having a representative on each show. You know, like a "network" of evil overlords. This came about after one of those "I want great ideas or resignations" pep talks. Here's the thing: Vince McMahon is the only one who likes the idea. There you go.
  • Speaking of The Network, Triple H has been upset with fans over the lack of success of it, which is largely responsible for the trolling of said fans with the "$9.99" nonsense. I wouldn't think this rumor credible -- and, really, you should question all rumors -- but considering what WWE television has looked like lately with Triple H leading the charge, well...
  • There are a lot of rumors that the Nation 2.0 stable of Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods has already been scrapped. Then Big E tweeted that Wale was working on music for "us". So they may be cancelled but they may not be. For whatever it's worth, Kofi was in singles action on Main Event sans the other two.
  • Ricardo Rodriguez deleted some tweets he sent to Kevin Steen after news of the latter's signing with WWE became official. In his tweets, he remarke that Triple H once called him "fat as fuck" and that he was referred to as "Bumblebee", possibly a reference to The Simpsons character. That's all unfortunate if true.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
