Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- There are reports going around, namely from the Wrestling Observer, that Joaquin Roldan, who heads up AAA, has confirmed that Alberto Del Rio will appear at TripleMania on Sunday night in Mexico City opposite SummerSlam. Right now, it's unclear what he'll be doing, however.
- The woman who played Megan Miller, the physical therapist Daniel Bryan had a storyline affair with on Raw last night, was Chelsea Green, who trained with Lance Storm and has worked the independent scene. It appears as though the storyline was used simply as a way to get Brie to slap a non-wrestler so she would be arrested later in the evening and this will not be a long term storyline. That could change, of course, but Bryan isn't expected back for a number of months and the storyline is expected to shift to Brie vs. Nikki Bella.
- There were a lot of rumors going around about Sting possibly appearing on last night's episode of Raw but it appears as though WWE never actually reached out to him. He is still scheduled to make appearances this weekend for WWE 2K15 at the SummerSlam panel to reveal the roster for the video game. No word on if they plan on using him at the actual pay-per-view.
- Sgt. Slaughter has been hospitalized but no one seems to know the reason for his checking in.
- TNA's TV deal with Spike TV ends the final week of September but even if a new deal is not reached, there could be some sort of working agreement between the two sides until Impact can find a new home. Also on the TNA front, they cancelled some house shows in September but that could be because they'll be taping television in New York at that time. There may be other drastic changes regarding what they'll do with house shows coming soon.
