During tonight's episode of Main Event in Ottawa, it was made official: Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt will take place on the upcoming Battleground pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for Sun., July 20, 2014, at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa, Florida.
Previous rumors had suggested Jericho would work with The Miz at that show before moving on to Wyatt at SummerSlam. Instead, Jericho beat Miz clean on Monday Night Raw this week and will now move on for what will likely be a series of PPV matches.
It's expected "Y2J" will stick around through Night of Champions, so don't be surprised if they have a trio of bouts. Considering where they are in their respective careers, it's safe to assume Wyatt comes out ahead either 3-0 or 2-1.
Either way, it should be worth your time (and $9.99).
Here's the updated Battleground match card and line-up:
- John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Kane vs. Roman Reigns
- Intercontinental championship battle royal
- Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt
