Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- This is a weird one, but there's a rumor making the rounds that WWE is already thinking about reuniting The Shield in about a year or so, around the end of 2015 or the start of 2016. Considering the fact that this is a company that books maybe four months in advance at most, and that usually only being the case for WrestleMania season, this one is easy to pass off. Still, it's out there, and the group is almost certainly going to reunite eventually anyway. This could end up being something like they did with D-Generation X, with the crew coming back together and disbanding various times.
- For those wondering, all the references to AJ Lee getting her "baby" back when she won the Divas title and her talking about it in the interview with Eden on "Raw Fallout" is in response to the pregnancy rumors that were going around.
- Tough Enough is up in the air right now. The idea is still to bring it back but because WWE is still in the midst of budget cuts, it's possible it will be a casualty of that.
- The first run of Impact tapings in NYC are done and the fallout -- SPOILERS AHEAD -- was that Dixie Carter went through a table and broke her back. The latter half of that statement is still just a rumor, but the word is she legitimately was hurt but it didn't matter because they were blowing off her character. So, at least for now, she'll be off TV indefinitely after that happens. Elsewhere, Tommy Dreamer only came back for the NYC tapings and he won't be used going forward.
- One of the reasons TNA may have brought back the six-sided ring is because Jeff Jarrett was thinking of using it for Global Force Wrestling once it launches.
- Elsewhere for GFW, they are apparently in negotiations for a television deal, though it's not clear with who. It's also being said, once again, that Toby Keith is involved despite reports to the contrary.
