Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- According to the Wrestling Observer, people within WWE aren't thinking about buying the TNA tape library but rather wondering where the company will end up in a new TV deal.
- Dean Ambrose actually was at Monday Night Raw this week and the reason he wasn't used was for "creative purposes", whatever the hell that means. So there you go. He does cut a promo on his making "promotional appearances" on SmackDown this week, so they're using his absence.
- It now looks like The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler will be the Intercontinental championship match at SummerSlam and, yes, Ziggler is likely doing the job again.
- There are now claims being made that Spike TV leaked to TMZ that they wouldn't be renewing TNA's television contract and it is, in fact, a done deal. Like we heard, they're very simply protecting the final two months of TV they have to air before TNA is forced to find a new home.
- As for how TNA is handling this situation in house, apparently e-mails have been sent to talent saying not to believe the reports floating around and they are still expecting good news within the next couple weeks. A lot of people are working a lot of others here, that much is certain. It's just who is working who.
