Video: WWE goes grindhouse for SummerSlam 2014 commercial

WWE always pulls out the stops for their SummerSlam commercials, tying the event that has been based out of Southern California for the last six years to a Hollywood-style movie trailer.

As seen during last night's otherwise lackluster Battleground pay-per-view (PPV), this year's edition takes a page from the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez playbook with a grainy-looking spot featuring a voiceover that channels the late, great Don LaFontaine.

The open also has a very "new guard is taking over" vibe with Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins front and center before more established stars like John Cena and Randy Orton begin to show up. Even then, there's a hefty does of Big E, Cesaro and Paige throughout.

And no sign of the guy who's been in all those other leaked SummerSlam promotional materials...

Does this get you hyped for the big August classic?
