New participants in Intercontinental title battle royal at Battleground 2014

When Bad News Barrett suffered a separated shoulder and it became clear he would need surgery that would knock him out of action for a number of months (read an update on the surgery here), WWE was forced to strip him of the Intercontinental championship.

"Vacant" will hold the strap until July 20, 2014, when the Battleground pay-per-view (PPV) at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa, Florida, plays host to a battle royal to crown a new champion.

Last night's episode of Main Event saw the addition of multiple participants, so here's the updated list of who is in so far:

- Cesaro
- Kofi Kingston
- Damien Sandow
- The Great Khali
- Rob Van Dam
- Dolph Ziggler
- Big E
- Ryback
- Curtis Axel
- Alberto Del Rio

There hasn't been an announcement on how many participants there will be when the match starts but 20 is a safe bet, considering it's a battle royal. If that is the case, we're already halfway home.
