Rumor Roundup (July 18, 2014): The Rock, WrestleMania 31, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair at SummerSlam, WWE buyout, more

ImpactWrestling.com

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • When Triple H sent out a picture and a tweet asking for fans to welcome Kenta to WWE, he linked to a Twitter account that is dormant with the name "Kenta Hayashi". Take that for what you will, but it looks at least possible WWE won't be changing his name. (Editor's note from Geno: We were alerted in the comments that Triple H simply screwed up when attempting to tag Kenta. The rumor of his name possibly not changing stands.)
  • Financial website SeekingAlpha.com is reporting the WWE stock went up recently because there is new speculation on a potential buyout. There's been almost nothing to suggest Vince McMahon and his family are planning anything like a merger but it's out there. Considering the performance of the WWE Network, anything is possible.
  • Apparently, Ring of Honor management were in New York City to meet with Marvel Comics on possibly working together just yesterday. PW Insider went on record reporting as much, so there may be something to this. That would be an interesting pairing, no?

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
