This Day in Pro Wrestling History (June 30)

Some helpful advice from Uncle Eddie: if you're going to take time off from work, make sure no one at work can find you. Otherwise, you may have to find another line of work.

19 years ago today, Raven and Stevie Richards defeat Public Enemy to win the ECW tag team championship. Here is their first interview following winning the titles.

11 years ago today, Hulk Hogan announces on the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show that his "Mr. America" character was on hiatus and that he was done with WWE. He did not give specifics as to why he felt that way, though there was speculation that he was not happy with his Wrestlemania payoff. He also mentioned he was looking into wrestling some matches in Japan, but he was done with wrestling in the US for the time being.

9 years ago today, Matt Striker makes national news when it was revealed he used some of his sick days as a teacher for the New York State Board of Education to work a few wrestling shows in Japan. Striker somehow parlayed the controversy into a WWE career, where he would remain with the company until June 2013.

6 years ago today, CM Punk wins the World Heavyweight Championship on RAW from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma , defeating Edge after cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Later that night, Punk would defeat JBL.
