Batista quit last night?
Seth Rollins turned on the Shield to join Evolution?
Well that's great and all, but it's time to check out...
Zack Ryder's Cageside Evaluation!
_____________________________________________________
What you loved:
- Z! True Long Island Story - Ryder's show was loved by the Internet and built a following that eventually got him a much deserved push.
- Dedicated - He loves this business, that's no secret. Instead of sitting around like many do, he went out and self-promoted unlike any other wrestler. He eventually reaped the rewards of this, but they were short lived. Side-note: His wrestling figure collection is amazing!
- Worker - Solid in the ring, has an interesting enough moveset and finisher.
- Charisma - He has a charm about him that, for awhile, connected very well with the fans.
- Gimmick - A unique gimmick that got over, especially with the kids.
Best comment comes via KDidz:
"The way he originally got himself over was unique and daring. He made his own show and got so over with it that the WWE had to listen. He never would have sold the merch he did, got the TV time he did, or get the US title if it weren’t for taking that risk. WWE sucked when he started doing Z True Long Island story to the point where all fans wanted was him and his time on Raw was some of the rare time I was excited watching the product."

What you loathed:
- Cena/Kane - He was dumped, a third wheel, in a cast, in a wheel chair, and rolled off a stage. Absolutely killed his character's momentum.
- Burial - Aside from that feud, Zack complained about WWE taking over his show, and without Vince McMahon's official blessing, his career went south faster than my Grandparents in October.
- Whiny - Along with his show complaints, Ryder took to Twitter to whine about his lack of TV time in the most annoying way possible.
- Social Media - I wouldn't say he's the main reason WWE took to obsessing over Facebook, Twitter, and Tout, but he showed how important it is for wrestlers to utilize those mediums. It created a monster.
- Fans - When creative kills a gimmick and takes them off TV I can't blame the fans for bailing, but in Ryder's case fans literally disappeared. Years from now confused men will find weird hair labeled "Broski" in their attics.
Best comment comes via Plan R:
"Loathe: Seth Rollins"
On to the poll! With 208 votes Zack Ryder's average score is 3.
Thanks, Cagesiders! Tomorrow's pick is is not a man but a move, one used by big men.
Until then!
