Although it cannot be taken as official confirmation, WWE sent out a survey to its mailing list today asking fans who they would want to see Brock Lesnar challenge for the WWE world heavyweight championship in the main event of this year's SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for Sun., Aug. 17, 2014, in Los Angeles.
The listed possibilities:
- John Cena
- Roman Reigns
- Alberto Del Rio
- Sheamus
- Randy Orton
- Bray Wyatt
- Cesaro
As you no doubt have noticed by now, that would be all seven participants in the Money in the Bank ladder match for the title that will take place at the Money in the Bank PPV on June 29 in Boston. Again, this is not an official confirmation by any means, but it certainly appears as though WWE is planning on having Lesnar challenge the winner of the big ladder match one week from tomorrow.
That almost certainly means the company is no longer expecting Daniel Bryan back by SummerSlam, as originally hoped for. It would seem Night of Champions in September is the new target return date and who knows what the landscape will look like by then.
