Sting WWE Hall of Fame induction could be on tap for 2015

Despite the fact that he hasn't officially signed with the company, or at least it's still unclear whether or not he's done so, reports of Sting working with WWE in some form or fashion continue to trickle out.

The latest is a bit from PW Insider that claims "there's been a lot of talk" of putting Sting in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015 the night before WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara, California. The reason provided is that the "Showcase of the Immortals" next year is in his "home state".

While Sting was born in Omaha, Nebraska, he grew up in southern California and was always billed in pro wrestling as hailing from Venice Beach. So the connection is there.

The timing of the report is interesting considering the recent rumors of the updated list of inductees WWE is currently considering for next year's ceremony. Here's who may be on the docket:

- The Rock
- Randy Savage
- Kevin Nash
- Rikishi
- Mickie James or Victoria

And now we can add Sting to list.

It still seems too early to induct The Rock considering he hasn't completely ruled out actually working a match at WrestleMania 31. If you take him off the list and headline it with Macho Man and Sting as the strong supporting member, well, that just sounds perfect to this former little Stinger.

Anyone out there hoping WWE pulls the trigger on this and puts Sting in the Hall of Fame next year?
